Missoula Children’s Theatre – Auditions

June 27 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 pm

Deep in the royal swamp, a selfish Princess makes a promise to befriend a lonely Frog after he retrieves her golden ball from a well.  But what happens when the Princess tries every trick in the book to break her promise?

Join ArtsLink and the Missoula Children’s Theatre this Saturday, July 2, when more than 50 local students present an original musical adaptation of The Frog Prince. The show will be performed by area children at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Lincoln Theater in New Martinsville.

Josie Gold and Nicole Frothingham are the Tour Directors for the MCT performance.

Gold is a recent graduate from Greensboro College in Greensboro, NC, where she obtained her BFA in musical theatre with minors in dance and humanities. Josie’s favorite roles include Elizabeth Darcy in Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley and Della in The Gift of the Magi, both at Greensboro College.

Frothingham is originally from the metro-Atlanta area and graduated with a BFA in theatre with an emphasis in musical theatre from Valdosta State University. She has most recently been seen in Hands on a Hardbody, The Country Wife, Tomas and The Library Lady, and 9 to 5.

Throughout its over 40 year existence, the Missoula Children’s Theatre International Tour has fostered developmental life skills in more than a million kids. Locally, children entering first through 12th grades auditioned Monday, June 27, then reported for daily rehearsals until curtain time on July 2

The residency in New Martinsville, sponsored by Fawn and Jim Price, is made possible by ArtsLink with help from the City of New Martinsville Parks and Recreation Department, West Virginia Northern Community College, WETZ / WYMJ Radio, the Wetzel-Tyler Chamber of Commerce, Riesbeck’s Supermarket, the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History, and the National Endowment for the Arts, with approval from the WV Commission on the Arts. MCT is supported by the Montana Arts Council, a state agency funded by the state of Montana. Grant funding application has been made to Walmart #2684.

Reserved tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under. General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $6 for children. Credit cards will be accepted and all tickets are available at the door.
